APQP
APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) is equivalent to the German “Qualitätsvorausplanung” (QVP). Advanced Product Quality Planning is the basis for potential error prevention and continuous improvement. The Advanced Product Quality Planning process covers the steps from development to batch production. It requires a multidisciplinary team, which covers all main departments, such as sales, development, production planning, production, purchasing and quality assurance. A plan that lays out the individual steps, the date of completion and the responsibilities for the required actions must be drawn up. Before an order is sent to a supplier, the producibility of the product or part must be verified. Without completion of the advanced product quality planning, the initial sample inspection reports are not valid and bulk approval is not possible. Standard parts (standard/catalog parts) can take exception to this. Normally, the advanced product quality planning is executed and checked for progress at regular intervals in cooperation with the multidisciplinary team of the supplier. The advanced product quality planning can lead to a quality agreement that defines and determines the most important criteria and how they are to be verified, evaluated and documented during volume production.

Backend Integration
The objective of backend integration is to seamlessly link one software tool to an existing software solution. A backend integration may be applied, for example, to create a query via SupplyOn within another, “familiar,” application environment (such as the SAP R/3 purchase module). To achieve this, all relevant program information is exchanged between the applications through commonly defined interfaces and applications.
Bidding
A function of the SupplyOn marketplace with suppliers make offers (or place bids) to concrete queries made by potential buyers over the course of hours or days.
Business Connector
The Business Connector is an SAP product available by license to every company that has an SAP R/3 or mySAP license. The Business Connector allows the user to take document from an SAP R/3 or mySAP system (called IDOCs) and transfer it as an XML document to a recipient system via the secured Web protocol (https). The Business Connector is the SAP standard for transferring documents such as order requests, orders and confirmations on the marketplace. The “mapping” of such documents, i.e. the conversion of the individual fields from SAP format to Web-based XML, is delivered by SAP for many common document types. The documents are secured in accordance with Internet standards by use of 128-bit encryption with a security certificate. On the SupplyOn marketplace, the Business Connector also acts as a recipient for documents that have been sent. It takes over the function of an “XML document hub,” which forwards the documents that have been created by the sending systems.
Business Directory (Bus Directory)
A list of companies on the SupplyOn marketplace where the businesses participating on the market are listed and where these businesses can present themselves and their goods and services in a structured manner.
