SupplyOn AG, the specialist provider of Internet services for the automotive and manufacturing industry, continues to grow and consolidates its leading market position. The company recently registered its 10,000th customer. Worldwide, more than 30,000 users from over 70 countries have opted for the SupplyOn platform to efficiently manage business processes ranging from purchasing and logistics to development and quality management.
In a clear demonstration of the successful alignment of its portfolio, SupplyOn has recorded growth in all of its product areas in recent months. “Our strategy is to portray all of the business processes between buyers and sellers on our platform, in other words, purchasing, logistics, product development and quality management,“ explains executive board member Markus Quicken. “The growing demand for all our solutions is a clear acknowledgement of our approach.“
Global competition and standardization are the driving factors
The continuous growth recorded by the company is driven by two trends in the automotive industry. On the one hand, global competition is creating a huge pressure to increase efficiency as well as the levels of networking and integration. The digitization of business processes and the creation of an optimum environment for inter-company collaboration are of decisive importance. E-business platforms which provide a technological basis for these optimization strategies are gaining ever greater significance.
On the other hand, more and more companies in the automotive and manufacturing industries are turning to established solutions proven in multiple scenarios which support integration within the value chain, as well as guaranteeing a high level of investment security, rapid roll-out and access to established technologies.
“In recent years SupplyOn has gone a long way towards becoming a standard solution in the automotive industry,“ says Quicken. “For many companies today our solutions provide the technological basis on which to model shared processes.“ For example, Germany’s Trade Association for Metal Products and Related Industries (FMI) recommends the SupplyOn Document Manager as standard solution for the component supply industry.
Know-how transfer to other industries
Another factor contributing to the growth of SupplyOn is the fact that more and more companies in the manufacturing industries are recognizing that they can benefit strongly from the standards and solutions already established in the automotive sector when optimizing their own processes.
“Fundamentally, business processes involving suppliers are the same throughout the entire manufacturing sector. Consequently, the process-oriented solutions developed by SupplyOn can add significant value in other industries too,“ Markus Quicken continues. This view has meanwhile been confirmed in the marketplace: “We are detecting strong interest in our solutions from the entire manufacturing sector“.
