In their joint development of a hybrid drive module, the two system suppliers Continental Automotive Systems and ZF are utilizing the SupplyOn collaboration platform. Thanks to the Collaboration Folders solution, all of the approximately 120 project participants have a virtual project space at their disposal, in which the shared documents such as various types of specifications, working documents and discussion protocols can be efficiently administrated and exchanged.
The hybrid module to be developed consists of an electric drive and a so-called momentum start module (ZF Sachs), as well as the power electronics (Continental Automotive Systems). In order to optimize and accelerate inter-company communication, Continental Automotive Systems and ZF had looked for a collaboration platform for project specific documents, which could be accessed by all participants at any given time.
Achieving aims faster thanks to structured processes
The SupplyOn Collaboration Folders represent a solution enabling bilateral document management: once a document is changed, a new version is generated rendering the changes transparent and verifiable for all participants. In a project folder, all of the shared data such as documents, notes, discussions and links are stored in folders. Access rights can be flexibly assigned at all levels.
Rolf Klamann, Head of CC MCAD Operations & External Tasks at Continental Automotive Systems, is convinced of the benefits of cooperation with ZF via the SupplyOn Internet platform: “SupplyOn Collaboration Folders represents a forward looking option for structuring development processes, accelerating the coordination activities between several team members and thereby achieving targets faster.“
