SupplyOn opens up new terrain
The automotive industry as pioneer: Additional branches are now opting for the collaboration platform

In today’s automotive industry SupplyOn has established itself as a central platform providing optimal support for the highly integrated cooperation throughout the supplier sector. Day by day, several thousand transactions in the areas of sourcing, development, logistics and quality management are processed on the SupplyOn collaboration platform. As business processes with suppliers can be handled along the same lines in the entire manufacturing industry, other branches are able to benefit to a high degree from the integrated solutions and established standards that are already in place.

Branch experts are also convinced of this: “With regard to process optimization and integrated working concepts, the automotive industry holds a pioneering position. In advancing the efficient design of its inter-company processes why should the manufacturing industry reinvent the wheel when it can draw on the established SupplyOn solutions?”, as Dr. Robert Fieten comments, board member of the Bundesverband Materialwirtschaft, Einkauf und Logistik (BME), the Geman association for materials management, purchasing and logistics.

Work on the Internet based SupplyOn collaboration platform is associated with a high degree of process transparency and process reliability. All participants have access to current documents at any time and place. Thanks to the electronic exchange of data instead of conventional channels such as mail and fax, media gaps are avoided, thereby reducing error rates by a considerable measure. This approach also generates cost savings, as well as delivering faster and superior work results.

In the meantime, Schindler, the leading manufacturer of elevators and moving staircases has opted for the SupplyOn platform, representing the first customer outside of the automotive industry to joint the client roster.
