tedrive optimizes logistics processes with SupplyOn

The automotive supplier tedrive, a global producer of driveshafts, differentials and steering systems, will manage part of its logistics processes electronically via SupplyOn. Following the fast connection of the respective suppliers of the German sites in just four months, delivery instructions, called deliveries and delivery and transport data are already being successfully exchanged via WebEDI. In addition to the classic electronic data exchange via tedrive’s proprietary systems, the company uses WebEDI as a complementary system, especially for connecting smaller suppliers. The integration of further suppliers for the plants in Poland and South America is planned in a second phase.

Following tedrive’s spin-off from Visteon in May 2007, the carve-out of the company’s IT systems resulted in a tight SAP project. "Faced with the challenge of bringing on close to 200 business partners into EDI, especially given that the IT infrastructure within tedrive was also just forming, tedrive was looking for a partner that had a proven, off the shelf WebEDI product. SupplyOn fit this bill and was able to deliver the suppliers on WebEDI within a tight four months timeframe that coincided with the launch of SAP at tedrive", says Satish Kannan, Chief Information Officer of tedrive Holding B.V. The very tight schedule was successfully adhered to because 70 percent of the relevant suppliers already use SupplyOn.

tedrive is the expert for driveshafts, differentials and steering systems. With annual sales of some €500 million and 2,600 employees at five locations, tedrive is a focused mid-sized automotive supplier that is active globally. The company headquarters is located in Heerlen, the Netherlands.
