How WebEDI with SupplyOn Works

An extensive EDI infrastructure is necessary to be able to receive, process and send classic EDI messages. This leads to substantial costs for software and hardware as well as for project management during operational implementation and regular maintenance: expenses which are only worthwhile for your suppliers in case of high business volume. This is where the main advantage of WebEDI comes into play. To process WebEDI messages, you only need a PC, a browser and Internet access, which are now part of the standard equipment of even the smallest companies.

The classic EDI data can be transported via various transmission logs (OFTP, FTAM, etc.) and transmission paths (ISDN, etc.). SupplyOn will be connected to your classic EDI infrastructure so that your suppliers can communicate with you via WebEDI. SupplyOn prepares your EDI data (e.g. delivery instructions) as Web forms which your suppliers will receive through the SupplyOn portal. Suppliers use message forms, which are also available on the portal, to enter and send data (e.g. delivery notes). Internet data exchange is based on the XML format.

WebEDI data can be displayed in the browser. Your suppliers can also download them as file for further processing in internal systems (optionally: as CSV or VDA 4905 format). Your suppliers can also upload files to send them to you as EDI messages via SupplyOn. This means that the costly and error-prone manual data entry is no longer an issue. SupplyOn provides the format descriptions required on its portal.
