Exactly 10 years ago, on 22 November 2011, the SCM solution for the aerospace industry AirSupply went online. On this day, the first transaction between Airbus and the supplier of the first hour, Elektro-Metall Export GmbH from Ingolstadt, was exchanged via the jointly developed AirSupply solution. One year later, Airbus had rolled out its entire supplier base for production materials, consisting of 700 companies. As a result, the previously used individual solution could be switched off at the end of 2012. Read more
1,400 participants and around 150 exhibitors from 60 countries followed IPM’s invitation and headed to Berlin for the 7th Railway Forum at the beginning of September. In addition, around 1,000 virtual visitors came to attend the presentations on screen. For many of the participants, it was the first on-site conference since the outbreak of the pandemic more than a year and a half ago. Read more
New Patrons and a new now virtual setup
Amid the Covid-caused “Lockdown light”, the 10th anniversary of the Aviation Forum had to be celebrated virtually. Prof. Dr. Johannes Walther welcomed about 1,500 participants and 100 partners, sponsors and exhibitors, during times of unprecedented crisis. The core topics of this conference were Digitalization, Sustainability and Partnership. He thanked the three patrons of the event, Airbus COO Dr. Michael Schöllhorn, Volker Thum, Managing Director of the German Aerospace Industries Association and Dr. Michael Haidinger, President of Boeing Germany. Digitalisation and rapid technological change are shaping modern agriculture – and are presenting it with completely new challenges. Therefore, the AGRITECH Supplier Summit 2020 had set itself the goal of showing and discussing successful solutions. Around 200 participants attended the event in Augsburg, which was initiated by the Berlin Institute of Supply Chain Management and hosted by AGCO.
Smart Construction Machines. The digital construction industry in 2025.
This was the motto of the 2nd Construction Equipment Forum, which took place this time in Mannheim. Professor Dr. Johannes Walter, host and head of IPM, opened the event. With approx. 400 participants, 73 partners and sponsors as well as approx. 60 exhibitors, the Construction Equipment Forum has grown considerably compared to the inaugural event one year ago in Hanover. In addition to the IPM Institute as organizer, the companies Wacker Neuson, Ammann, Bosch and STRABAG are founding partners and sponsors of the event. Read more

Outside, a constant stream of vehicles and cold temperatures prevailed; inside, innovations in the automotive industry were debated in a warm atmosphere. That was the “2019 Automotive Industry Supply Chain Innovation and Financial Transformation Forum”, which took place in Beijing on October 25, 2019.
Now Munich. After 8 years in Hamburg, an alternating pattern of the Aviation Forum location was practiced for the first time: With one year in Munich and the next year again in Hamburg. Once again, this year’s Aviation Forum set a new record: 800 attendants, 145 exhibitors and 55 speakers raised the bar even higher. Read more
