This was the motto of the 2nd Construction Equipment Forum, which took place this time in Mannheim. Professor Dr. Johannes Walter, host and head of IPM, opened the event. With approx. 400 participants, 73 partners and sponsors as well as approx. 60 exhibitors, the Construction Equipment Forum has grown considerably compared to the inaugural event one year ago in Hanover. In addition to the IPM Institute as organizer, the companies Wacker Neuson, Ammann, Bosch and STRABAG are founding partners and sponsors of the event. Read more

bauma 2019: Digitization gains ground in the construction equipment industry

The world' s largest trade fair not only presented the latest machines, but also future trends in autonomous driving and digitization.
The world’ s largest trade fair not only presented the latest machines, but also future trends in autonomous driving and digitization.

The bauma took place again from April 8 to 14, 2019 at the exhibition grounds in Munich-Riem. With 3,702 exhibitors from 63 countries and regions and an exhibition area of 614,000 m² (more than 6.6 million square feet), it is the largest trade fair in the world.

Trending themes: Alternative power systems, autonomous driving and digitization

At bauma, too, the topic of alternative power sources and the autonomous operation of excavators and other construction machinery was one of the main topics.  Read more

A very good reason for Dr. Lüddemann, Chairman of the Federation of the German Construction Industry (Hauptverband der deutschen Bauindustrie e.V., HdB) and his colleague, Dirk Siewert, Head of Civil Engineering and Construction Machinery Technology, to feel satisfied: More than 80 participants as well as 13 solution providers attended the debut product dialogue “Potentials of digital solutions in construction machinery technology”, which took place on March 19, 2019 on the premises of the Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft (htw) in Berlin.
