SupplyOn adds new functions to its WebEDI solution
Financial processes can now be handled rapidly and economically via the Internet
SupplyOn AG, established as a provider of Internet services for the automobile industry, is expanding its WebEDI solution. With effect from June 2005, business partners will also be able to exchange invoices and remittance advices via the Internet platform. The web-based solution minimizes the cost of financial processes and eliminates fault-prone media gaps from the value chain.
In future suppliers will be able to create their invoices directly within SupplyOn WebEDI and dispatch them to their customers. In turn, customers can then record the request for payment immediately in electronic form. The relevant data are available in a standardized format ready for automatic entry to their in-house systems. The data can be simply saved for internal processing. In future, when payments are due, purchasers will be able to rapidly and economically notify their suppliers via the Internet that a transfer has been initiated or a check dispatched.
SupplyOn WebEDI already supports the electronic transfer of delivery instructions, delivery and transport data, credit notes and stock movements. The relevant data are consistently transparent and clearly structured. This saves time lost on queries and accelerates the communication process. For some years now the solution has proven its worth to users such as ZF, Bosch and Siemens VDO Automotive and has been successfully deployed by MANN+HUMMEL since 2002. “In view of the rising pressure on time and costs, it is becoming increasingly important to introduce and accelerate lean communication processes. It is essential that all our processes are interlinked in a straightforward manner over the entire value chain with no media gaps occurring. SupplyOn WebEDI allows us to optimize our processes in the fields of both logistics and financial accounting“, explains Mischa Kohnen, Project Manager at MANN+HUMMEL.
SupplyOn WebEDI is steadily establishing itself as the standard solution in the automotive industry. Around 3,000 suppliers now use SupplyOn to handle their logistics and financial processes. Data exchange is handled in a securely encrypted form between the ERP systems employed by purchasers and suppliers via a standardized platform. Thanks to SupplyOn WebEDI, even small and medium-sized enterprises are able to economically optimize their communication processes without having to invest in a costly, extensive EDI infrastructure.
