Webasto, the leading manufacturer of roof and temperature management systems, has chosen SupplyOn. In future, the global supplier to the automobile industry will handle key logistical processes with its suppliers via the collaboration platform SupplyOn. Webasto plans to integrate SupplyOn’s solutions into its existing supplier portal in order to make it easier to use for its business partners. Around 300 suppliers are set to be linked up as part of the global implementation process.
Webasto will in future handle its VMI process (Vendor-Managed Inventory) via SupplyOn, giving suppliers an overview of their stocks and facilitating demand planning. Webasto will also no longer send its delivery schedule via fax in future, but instead will do this electronically via SupplyOn, receiving the delivery and transport data from its suppliers using the same method. Media disruptions which can waste time and cause errors will now be consigned to the past.
“We chose SupplyOn because it is more efficient to use an established solution that is already being deployed successfully by numerous other companies in our industry for standard processes of this type than implement an own solution. Not only did the lower costs play a key role in our decision, but also – and more importantly – the more rapid implementation”, says Peter Domes, Head of Logistics Systems and Organisational Development at Webasto AG, explaining the decission.
