Complete transparency:
SupplyOn presents new solution for transport management

SupplyOn AG, the world’s leading supplier of web-based services for supply chain management in the automotive and manufacturing industries, is adding a new solution for controlling and monitoring transport processes to its logistics module. This means that carriers and logistics service providers can be integrated via EDI into the exchange of data between customers and suppliers.

The carrier is informed of an imminent delivery of goods by a transport order from the purchasing company and can also confirm this order via SupplyOn. The supplier transmits to the carrier the precise time of collection in a dispatch note. During transport the customer receives regular updates on the status of a consignment. The system has the huge benefit of making all deliveries around the world transparent. If the arrival of a delivery is postponed, the customer can change production to suit with plenty of warning.

“The new SupplyOn solution ensures complete and consistent visibility of the entire value-added chain from placing the order with the supplier and production to transport and payment,” says Dr. Stefan Brandner, Director of Product Management at SupplyOn. “The users receive transport data from their appointed service providers via a central interface and can therefore organize integral supply chain management.“

A new dimension to track & trace
By setting up global procurement networks and a consistent just-in-time strategy, companies in the automotive and manufacturing industries can make considerable cost savings. But complete transparency of all logistics processes is key, as are efficient management instruments for controlling them. SupplyOn’s new transport management solution goes a long way to helping ensure this as it allows information from all carriers and logistics providers around the world to be integrated, to be linked to data from other SupplyOn modules and mapped in a standard way.
