Leading elevator manufacturer uses SupplyOn WebEDI and EDI to optimize its ordering and finance processes

The Schindler Group, a leading manufacturer of elevators and escalators, will soon be processing its order and invoicing processes in the US and Brazil with SupplyOn’s WebEDI and EDI solution. After the successful introduction of SupplyOn WebEDI und EDI in five of Schindler’s European plants and the European logistics center, the global roll-out is about to start. By March 2008, the solution is scheduled to be up and running in both North and South America and the global roll-out will be completed in the Asia-Pacific region. A total of 350 suppliers will be connected in the first phase. “Thanks to SupplyOn, global management of suppliers has got a whole lot more efficient,” says Jochen Weyandt, Head of Corporate Purchasing & Strategic Sourcing at Schindler Management Ltd. “With just one single integration of our internal systems, we will soon be able to quickly and easily exchange information with 350 suppliers. The size and EDI capabilities of our business partners don’t matter because SupplyOn allows us to process electronic communications using both the Internet and classic EDI.“ SupplyOn’s WebEDI and EDI solution has been commonly used in the automotive industry for years and is increasingly ensuring the consistent electronic transfer of information in other sectors too. Media disruptions are avoided and the processes are comprehensible and transparent for everyone involved, resulting in considerable time and cost savings.
