1.500 companies have disclosed their climate strategy at SupplyOn Sustainability on the SupplyOn platform gains momentum: around 1,500 companies have published their corporate carbon footprint and climate strategy

A sustainability initiative by SupplyOn is registering its first successes: Around 1,500 companies have published detailed information about their CO2 strategy, their energy mix, and their current carbon footprint on the SupplyOn platform. The disclosure of CO2 emissions and their reduction is increasingly becoming a precondition for the cooperation with suppliers.

The 1,500 companies are primarily global strategic suppliers of production materials to SupplyOn customers. The sustainability data can be viewed and processed by all companies that use SupplyOn on the purchasing side or will do so in the future. Based on this data, a company can determine its Scope 3 emissions - i.e. the emissions caused by suppliers. Since up to 80% of emissions in the manufacturing industry come from the supply chain, it is extremely important for companies to build on a reliable database here.

On the one hand, the goal of this initiative is to increase the number of suppliers who have published their climate readiness and strategy to 3,000 by the end of 2023. On the other hand, the data will be queried and updated on an annual basis. In this way, emission reductions and transformation roadmaps are made transparent.

Korbinian Reng, Vice President Portfolio Management & Marketing at SupplyOn: "Since a high proportion of CO2 emissions in the manufacturing industry come from the supply chain, it is essential for companies pursuing ambitious climate targets to know the CO2 emissions of their suppliers as well as their climate strategy. This is where SupplyOn comes in: We help our customers achieve their climate goals by creating transparency - so that each of our customers' products becomes successively more sustainable."
